ITEM: School Visit by Teen/YA author Faye Bird.

DETAILS: Faye is offering a talk (includes a reading and Q&A) followed by a writing workshop for up to 30 students around either My Second Life (Year 7 or Year 8) or What I Couldn’t Tell You (Year 9). Faye will also donate signed copies of each of her books to the school library.

BIO: Faye is the author of two novels for young adults – My Second Life and What I Couldn’t Tell You. She regularly visits schools offering talks and writing workshops, and has been a part of the Edinburgh International Book Festival Schools Programme and the Bath Children’s Book Festival Outreach Programme, amongst others.

My Second Life was shortlisted for the North East Teen Book Award, the Hounslow Teen Read and the Portsmouth Book Award (2014). What I Couldn’t Tell You was shortlisted for the first Ealing Teen Read earlier this year, and is on the current shortlist for the Lancashire Book of the Year 2017.

Faye worked as a literary agent representing screenwriters in Film and TV before becoming a writer herself, and lives in London with her family and one very fluffy ginger cat called Ralph.

  1. £100! Well done all of you-what a wonderful idea! It would be for a school in Bucks which is an hour from Baker St on the train or 45 minutes drive from West London, hope that’s OK.
